1st Change Order Approved for the Jackson Boulevard Project

Phase 1 of the Jackson Boulevard Street and Utility Improvements project is moving along. The first change order for phase 1 of the project, an increase of $20,976.58 and a decrease of $14,452.46, for a net increase of $6,524.12, was approved July 1 by the Spearfish City Council. Jackson Boulevard progressing into 3rd Month of Construction

RCS Construction Crews are making great progress despite the rain. The storm sewer trunkline is complete up to the alley west of Canyon Street; the storm sewer and the drop inlets at Third Street are complete; and the water main lowering and relocation at Third Street is complete. South Dakota Army National Guard Breaks Ground on Readiness Center

The South Dakota Army National Guard has broken ground on the new Aviation Readiness Center. The 58,000 square foot state of-the-art facility will be placed next to the Guard’s Army Aviation Support Facility which is currently exceeding its limits. This $20 million facility will house more than 150 Soldiers from eight units and will feature training classrooms, administrative offices, equipment storage space and more. We are so honored to be part of this project!

Jackson Boulevard Street & Utilities Improvements - Phase 1

Get ready for roadwork! Construction began yesterday for phase 1 of the Jackson Boulevard Street, Storm, and Utility Improvements project. The project includes roadway rehabilitation, utility infrastructure replacement, safety, gateway corridor enhancements and streetscaping, preservation and enhancement of community character, and economic development. The substantial completion date is set for November 8, 2019 with the final completion date being June 1, 2020.

Noem signs bill for Guard Readiness Center

Kristi Noem signed the bill that provides more than $19 million in state and federal funds to build the 58,000 SF National Readiness Guard Center. The facility will provide space for training, supplies, and administrative to support their training and drills and to do other functions.

Mental Health Pod

As we head into January we will begin the construction of the Mental Health Pod located at the Community Health Center of the Black Hills.

Phase one of the project consists of an interior office and exam room.
Phase two is a new on-site cold storage building.

Robbinsdale Park Improvement

RCS Construction is excited to announce the completion of Robbinsdale Park Drainage Improvement, Walking Path, BMX Design Build Track, and Baseball Fields.

Working with Rapid City Parks and Rec, the City of Rapid City, Sperlich Engineering, Stanley Design Group, Tall Grass, Rapid City BMX and Harney Little League, the project was multi-faceted.  

The project had multiple phases.  Improvement to the drainage of the park and fields.  Addition of walking paths, and improvements to the BMX Track and the Baseball Fields.

YFS Adams Street Expansion - Demolishing begins

As we head into May 2018 RCS Construction has begun the demolition of the former food pantry building and the old Piggly Wiggly grocery.  The building was located next to the YFS building on Adams Street. 

The first phase of the expansion project is removing the existing structure from the lot and prepare the ground for the expansion of the Youth & Family Services facility.  The project is close to $14 million.  When complete it will add nearly 100,000sf to the current building.

Project Description: The project consists of the removal of two existing buildings, significant site reconfiguration, new and maintenance of existing utility infrastructure, approximately 65,000 SF of new construction and approximately 10,000 SF of remodeled space.
